God's Present

Have you ever wondered why a child would excitedly open a Christmas present, only to set it aside and play with its box? Surprisingly, Christians often do this too. After receiving God’s present, Jesus Christ, into our lives, we may go right on living not appreciating what it means to have “Christ in (us), the hope of glory!” (Colossians 1:27) Encouraging men to not only receive Jesus Christ but also live through Him is the mission of this ministry.

The first four months of this ministry have been an exciting and challenging adventure. Men are continuing to wake up and walk with God like I’ve never seen before in twenty-two years of ministry. Leading a table for North Point Community Church’s [7] this year, I saw over a thousand men literally wake up early on Fridays to walk with God. I also had the opportunity to lead the men’s retreat at Hamilton Mill UMC for the fourth time last month. This was particularly exciting as the focus of this retreat was being a disciple of Jesus, not just a Christian, and Kevin Murray lead it with me. I began encouraging Kevin three years ago in his walk with the Lord and this year he started Encourage to Faith Ministries. Ministering to men and encouraging them to minister to other men, continues to be one of my greatest joys!

Partnering with others who share my passion for Jesus Christ is the desire of my heart. Let’s continue to walk together with Jesus and encourage others to do the same for God’s glory!
